Police investigate three auto theft reports: University Heights police blotter

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Auto theft: Ashurst Road

At 8:05 am June 14, a Shaker Heights man, 18, reported that his parents’ 2013 Honda Civic was stolen during the previous night from his friend’s University Heights driveway.

Auto theft: Raymont Boulevard

At 11:20 pm June 15, a woman, 46, living in the 3600 block of Raymont Boulevard, reported that an unknown male stole from her driveway her 2021 Cadillac Escalade. The woman did not realize for several hours that the vehicle was missing.

Auto theft: Cedarbrook Road

At 7:15 am June 17, a Florida woman, 33, reported that her 2021 Ford rental car had been stolen, with keys, during the previous night.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 10:40 am June 13, a Lyndhurst woman, 51, went to the University Heights police station to report that her wallet was stolen while she was at the Goodwill Store, 13908 Cedar Road. A Cleveland Heights woman, 67, was identified as a suspect. Police are investigating.

Warrant arrest: Warrensville Center Road

At 10:35 pm June 14, an officer stopped a car due its multiple equipment violations. The driver, a Cleveland man, 22, was found to be driving with a suspended license and to be the subject of several warrants.

Police cited the man for driving with a suspended license and the equipment violations, and arrested him on one of the warrants. He was turned over to the custody of Wickliffe police.

Assault: Bushnell Road

At 9:05 pm June 14, police were called to a home on a report of an assault and possible protection order violation. Police took into custody a Cleveland man, 68. The man was later released pending further investigation.

Burglary: Washington Boulevard

At 12:45 pm June 15, a Cleveland Heights man, 64, reported that his vacant rental property, located in the 3500 block of Washington Boulevard, may have been burglarized between June 9-15. In investigation was initiated.

Criminal damaging: Cedar Road

At 3:50 pm June 15, a University Heights woman, 28, reported that her car was keyed while parked at Purvis Park, 14260 Cedar Road.

Menacing: Warrensville Center Road

At 12:40 pm June 18, police were called to the Verizon store, 2197 Warrensville Center Road, where a Cleveland woman, 44, reported that she was threatened by a Cleveland Heights woman, 19. An investigation is pending.

Welfare check: Groveland Road

At 4:10 pm June 18, police were asked to do a welfare check on a man, 67, at a home in the 4400 block of Groveland Road. The man was found in the home, deceased. No foul play is suspected.
