Kettering University Class of 2022 graduates at Atwood Stadium

FLINT, MI – Three hundred and seventy five students from Kettering University’s Class of 2022 walked across the stage and received their degrees during a commencement ceremony at Atwood Stadium this afternoon.

The ceremony took place at 10:30 am Saturday, June 18, at Atwood Stadium in Flint. This is the third commencement ceremony to be held in a row at the stadium since it was refurbished.

Kettering alumnus Brady Ericson, who graduated in 1994, was the featured speaker during the ceremony. Ericson is the vice president of BorgWarner Inc. and serves on Kettering’s engineering advisory council.

“My wish for each and every student graduating is to be curious, take risks, stay humble and take time to reflect with pride on all that you have accomplished,” Ericson said. “Your graduation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next; strive to make all your chapters impactful ones. ”

Chicago native Paul Sheridan, a former student who today received a Master of Science in lean manufacturing, said getting to this point is a good feeling after beginning his degree in 2018.

“It’s been a long time coming, but to have my master’s degree now is good feeling,” Sheridan said. “It is a skill set that I never thought I would have but I definitely need. I hope it can help me drive more productivity into some of the assembly plants I support and other interfaces with manufacturers. ”
