Bronx, NY – Fordham University mourns the loss of former football Ram Sean Carlesimo, who passed away in Seattle, Washington, on June 8. He was 60.

Sean Carlesimo (# 17)Sean, who was also known as “The Duke”, was a standout football player at Fordham in the early 1980s, earning team Most Valuable Player honors in 1983. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Peter, who played for the Rams in the late 1930s before becoming Athletic Director at Fordham from 1968-1978. Two of Sean’s brothers, Gregg, and PJ, also played football for the Rams.

A Celebratory Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 29, in Montclair, New Jersey, at St. Cassian’s Church at 10:30 am A celebration of life lunch at Glen Ridge Country Club on Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, will be held immediately following the service.

The family requests that any memorial gifts be donated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
